Buckingham Road Renovation
Completed 2016
Built in 1954, this home nestled on a sloping site and surrounded by wonderful vegetation was in need of several interior renovations. These included a complete re-design for the kitchen layout; a new master suite configuration to allow for a better bathroom, a proper walk-in closet and a larger bedroom; an additional powder room; new stairs; a lower-level library and foyer; and a new front portico and front door.
The interior and exterior improvements to the house include refinishing existing and “toothing-in” new hardwood flooring; structural work to allow for alterations of existing walls; adding new plumbing lines and fixtures; installing a new HVAC unit and ductwork; reworking brick masonry to accommodate large floor-to-ceiling openings to view the wooded backyard; adding new windows and replacing existing windows; adding new doors, trim, hardware, and lighting; and applying fresh paint.
The architectural design and construction of this project were performed by ARKE.
